6600GT incorrect core speed

HELP:

Iam certain that the 6600GT core clock speed is meant to be
500mhz and Mem 500mhz.

But in both Riva Tuner and V-Tuner are showing my clock speeds are only
300mhz with Mem 500mhz

Iam goning to do a full reinistall of windows as i previously had MX440 sloted in. And didn't unintall the old drivers before installing the 6600gt. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Otherwise should I return the card ??/

I want to say I recall reading something about the 6600GT running at 300mhz in 2D mode and going to the full 500mhz in 3D mode.

Ahhh I was doing a Temp check while running doom3 and noticed that the default Core speed jumped upto 500mhz,

i did some testing on OC the card:
running it at 550Mhz core and 1200mhz Mem
(OC sites state you can OC it to 740mhz 1400mhz)

had no problems:
except the Temp seem high:

50C on Idle (wow)
62C after running doom3 for an hour

I expect these temps to increase during the day as daytime temp rises.

Is this normal ?
the core slowdown threshold is an insane 123C

My 7800GTX idles at around 50C and peaks at roughly 75C. I don't worry about it- threshold for it is 115C.

Those temps really aren't all that high. Heck, the new P4 955EE peaked at over 100C for some reviewers, in the high 90s for everyone.
