I have just recently started playing FFH2, and I only have "Vanilla" Civ4. I have a couple questions about the game:

1. I was wondering what the differences between FFH2 on Vanilla Civ vs BTS.

2. Is there any way to turn off the Armageddon counter?

Thanks in advance!

1. Dunno. Only played BTS

2. Yes. Pick to play a Custom Game, and there's an option to play without the Armageddon Counter

1) tons of differences, you would have to play to learn the differences (however I remember that magic has changed vastly, sorcery and summoning have merged)

Also there is no support for bugs, fewer modmods, no Empyrean, no Esus, the Svarts and no Sidar. The Illians are also supposed to be blocked from player and art is a lot worse.

So I went out and bought BTS yeah its nite and day differences in the game. I have a couple of more questions now though regarding maps and stuff. I like the huge maps although I never finish em but I was wondering of the different continent maps which one is the best for long games.

As well say I pick 4 continents and then 16 civilizations would it put 4 on teams on each or is it more random where would one have 6-7 civilizations and another only have 1 civilization?

I still play the vanilla ffh2, as I haven't bought bts either.

As a matter of fact, perhaps I'll check it out online and see if I can find a good price.

Do I have to buy warlords first? I assume not, due to the fact that you could buy conquests and it included PtW.

I got Civ4, Warlords and BtS for some 45 euros total in one box and one dvd. Though I still hope Firaxis makes it so I can play without the dvd in my drive.

Doesn't the 3.19 patch make the game no disc required. At least it does for me.

The Civ4 + Warlords + BtS in one box sounds a lot like Civ4 Complete...which doesn't require the DVD in the drive even without the 3.19 patch.

Thanks for the info.

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, downloading a no-cd crack for a game YOU BOUGHT AND PAID FOR is not illegal.

I seem to recall there being a cIV no cd crack available somewhere around the web.

EDIT: Also, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

In response to your question, I'm fairly certain the placement of civilizations is relatively random i.e. one continent might have 3 while another has 6, although I may be wrong.

As far as teams go, the game never automatically assigns players to teams AFAIK, even if the civ distribution was even on all continents.
