I hope it's OK to create a thread that's not about an actual game. With Civilization 7 releasing next week (for me) or 2 weeks from now, it's time for me to say farewell to 6otM.
I didn't post a lot in the AAR for 2 reasons. I'm not good at taking notes of important events, so it would have been hard to post more than a very generic and vague AAR, but more than that i suffered heavily from "late game boredom" in Civ6 and didn't finish many of my games, including 6otM. I did however play a lot of those and enjoyed those (until said "late game boredom" hit me) and i wanted to say a big thank you to the team that tirelessly provided those games for more than 8 years, following a path pioneered by Thunderfall almost 24 years ago! (yes, i did some archaeological digging in the forum, hope you don't mind me pillaging your cultural artifacts
)
It's not the end of Civilization for me though. I have big hopes and small fears for Civ7 but overall i'm (cautiously) optimistic with what i've seen so hopefully i'll see you again for the first GO7M (don't even feel remotely forced to adopt that puny joke). Who knows, if Firaxis really managed to solve late game boredom with the ages i might even post some AAR (no promise here, sorry
)
So once again, thank you to the 6otM team, and the Civ5 GotM team before them (i played a lot of those, maybe even more than Civ6), you don't receive enough recognition for your efforts, but they are appreciated
