:D Why not give Tank, Panzer and Modern Armor +400% vs Melee,Archery and Cavalry Units?
And also Heli and Mech Infantry.
Then Grenadier -90% vs Heli units( How could a Heli was blast down by Grenades? ).
This can solve the logic problem that Melee Units destroy tanks( I`ll crush on your heads:lol: )
Was this posted in the forums?

First generation armor could be threatened by cavalry to a certain extent.

If your modern armor is running into problems with cavalry/archers/melee, it probably has to do with running out of ammunition due to the masses of troops charging it. ;)

 Just let Tank do +400% to Knight and Rider ect:lol:
And When tank deal with Maces, Archers or Knights, it won`t use its ammo but Tracks.

Maces, Archers or Knights can throw cocktails into the tank if the tank doesn't use ammo.

Cooktail? That`s not a technology in Medieval Age ^^ and it should be grenadiers` equipment. Er......if a Pike Unit have Cooktails it surely can burn down a Macemen Unit. How about a helicopters? They should be totally overpowering to all troops and cavalry units without Rifle or Musket, right?

A helicopter on the ground is dead meat.

None of these fights are likely to lose, unless the modern unit is damaged.

Damaged modern units are low on repairs, ammunition, armor and fuel. Just because the unit is "maceman", doesn't mean that maceman cannot raid an insufficently defended supply base, steal bottles and fuel, then use them against you.

Against a well-equipped army, this isn't much of a danger. But when your force has been beaten down by a huge low-tech army attacking it, some of their troops are going to get through the lines and steal some supplies, and your out-of-ammo, low-on-fuel, out-of-food helicopter assault force is having a nap with insufficient guards, a "maceman" using stolen equipment can throw a cocktail onto your fuel tank, and ... there goes your helicopter unit.

If you look at the odds that a helicopter or a modern tank has against a primitive unit when undamaged, they are pretty ridiculously biased in favour of the modern unit.

look, Civ never counts in ambushes, and these "battles" simulate months of warfare, so a gernadier brigade could sneak into the enemy camp and literaly rip up tanks and helis wiring, totaly putting them out of comission, or as far as action is concerned DEAD

But then technological advancement will be the only factor in winning a war. Older units will not matter and the moment you have the required tech, you can build two invincible units and win with only them.

on higher difficulties i pretty much rely on the fact that older units are very able to defeat more modern units. in one battle, both units on full health, the rng might roll "odd" and an axeman wins a fight against a garrison II longbow in a city on a hill. but this happens so rarely it doesn't really play a role. it's just perception. you win 99 battles with your modern armor against older units and then there's just this one old longbow left, with your last tank within reach to attack and raze the city, to avoid 20 reinforcements to arrive the next turn and the apollo program to be built and *BAM* your modern armor loses. city falls back to the enemy, apollo program build, several rounds lost. this one fight you will remember.

you wouldn't really care for such odd combat results if all of them happen in situations were it doesn't really matter.

There should always be a small chance you'll lose. It's still not fair if one player is stuck in the australian deserts and the rest are in europe happilly trading their way into the modern era by 1400 AD, but its something.

Yeah I'm going to go WTH when I attack the australian pikeman and get my butt handed to me, but it buys him a few more turns (maybe) to try and beg borrow and steal the tech, and then use it to save himself. That's strategy. He's still screwed, but he has that one small chance when the conquistidors come calling.
