7) No, not Vandals. No Vandals (or Germanic tribes) in the 6th or 5th century BC.

10) It's King Midas alright but the kingdom is not Crete. ;)

Replies by Kublai-Khan : -

"1) This people were the first and only nation to officially convert to Judaism. ---ethiopia"

No.

"3) This kingdom is the first to convert to Christianity in the world. armenia"

Correct!

"5) This people founded and lived in Veii.etruscans?"

Correct! I was half-expecting someone to answer Romans .... :)

"7) This people sacked Rome itself .... in the 5th or 6th century BC.vandals?"

Nope.

"10) The king of this kingdom was reputed to be very rich and everything he touched turned to gold.
Mmidas from lidia"

Yep, it's the kingdom of Lydia in Asia Minor, later conquered by Cyrus the Great of Persia.

Good job, Kublai! :goodjob:

I am really intrigued about the first one,
i have no idea.

1) This people were the first and only nation to officially convert to Judaism.
Maltese (Island of Malta) <<< wild guess

2) This kingdom fought against the Chinese and the Khitans, then the Jurchens and finally succumbed to the Mongols.
Another wild guess , the Loreans?

3) This kingdom is the first to convert to Christianity in the world.
Armenia (already answered)

4) This people provided the Mongol Yuan dynasty with heavy cavalry (i.e. knights, lances, armor and the like).
not sure, but they got it via Merchants (maybe the Venetians?)

5) This people founded and lived in Veii.
Etruscans (already answered)

6) This mountain kingdom was once subdued by the Manchus and remained a tributary state until the end of the Manchus' reign in China.
either Nepal or Tibet (am I close?)

7) This people sacked Rome itself .... in the 5th or 6th century BC.
Ummm, the Rome did split into sections around this time, but did it actually get sacked???

8) This people were famous merchants along the Silk Road and thru out Central Asia.
Venetians (Marco Polo - merchant of Venice)

9) This people instituted land reforms (namely giving land to peasants in return for military service) which would later form the basis of power for the Sui and Tang dynasties of China.
No idea

10) The king of this kingdom was reputed to be very rich and everything he touched turned to gold.
King Midas (Lydia) - previously answered

"1) This people were the first and only nation to officially convert to Judaism.
Maltese (Island of Malta) <<< wild guess"

Your wild guess is ..... wrong. :)

"2) This kingdom fought against the Chinese and the Khitans, then the Jurchens and finally succumbed to the Mongols.
Another wild guess , the Loreans?"

I assume you mean Koreans. Nope, the Khitans and Jurchens after them actually ruled Korea (the northern parts).

"4) This people provided the Mongol Yuan dynasty with heavy cavalry (i.e. knights, lances, armor and the like).
not sure, but they got it via Merchants (maybe the Venetians?)"

No. A few thousand of these tribesmen were permanently camped in the Mongol Yuan military camp outside their capital. They formed part of the Yuan's elite troops.

"6) This mountain kingdom was once subdued by the Manchus and remained a tributary state until the end of the Manchus' reign in China.
either Nepal or Tibet (am I close?)"

Correct answer is Nepal. :goodjob: Tibet was under direct Manchu rule cos the Mongols were affliated to Lamaism. In order to control them, the Qing court needed to control their religious focal point.

"7) This people sacked Rome itself .... in the 5th or 6th century BC.
Ummm, the Rome did split into sections around this time, but did it actually get sacked???"

Yes, it got sacked. One of the reasons the Romans were so militaristic. Still gave them nightmares centuries later.

"8) This people were famous merchants along the Silk Road and thru out Central Asia.
Venetians (Marco Polo - merchant of Venice)"

No. Venetians were a .... novelty along the Silk Road. ;) Not many made it past the Moslems.

Everything is wrong and i want to cry,
the supermarkets all along the city are being sacked by people that are not doing that becouse they are hungry , they are activists that want to.....
i don´t know what they want!:(
now there is something similar to martial law
no more than 2 people can be on the street.
It all sucks
I am afraid of losing democracy and having a military coup in power.
Maybe it will be necesary
the romans put dictators in the governmnet when the situation was too critic.
I will really rejoice rejoice!
if all the politicians loose their lives,
their are the responsibles of our situation, it is imposible to have worst politiciansthan ours they are a gang of thieves.

I can´t believe i just said that!
all is wrong
it is sad becouse argentina used to be a country with a really high standar of life ,
it is the culmination of a 25 years process, a process of decadence
and something big is going to happen.

Then it was have been the Gaulois, led by Brennus, who actually didn't exist at all according to many historians. This name comes from old gallic Brenn which means "leader".

The story is famous, he asked for ransom in gold, and used a big scale to weigh a large amount of gold. When the romans complained that it was too much, he threw his weapons on the scale and said "Vae Victis" which means "Woe betide the defeated". But I think it's a legend anyway. I don't think hecould speak latin anyway.

Correct! :goodjob: The more accurate answer would be the Cisalphine Gauls i.e. those who had migrated and settled in the Po valley of Northern Italy. They sacked Rome in 387 BC.

Questions 1), 2), 4), 8), 9) remaining ..... Harder, aren't they? :D

Correct!

Actually I thought it was the assyrians. But I'm not quite sure they had a kingdom. Or maybe assyrians lived in Armenia?

But the oldest christian church in the world was the Assyrian Church of the East, in the city of Edessa.
