im not sure if this has happened with anyone else but when i play the normal civ3 game i am war crazy and go for monarchy as fast as possible and all the war tech and i noticed when i am an heroic difficulty and am already on monarchy and have so many units my gold is -100 per turn i noticed if i keep building units like no tomarrow my gold eventualy goes up it doesn't make sense to me like after 200 units later my gold is +500 instead of -1000

Well as you add towns and towns become cities they provide more unit support. Not sure what is meant by heroic difficulty.

What else are you doing? Roads, railroads, markets and banks all improve your economy. If you are building these, then you are building wealth. At any rate you're doing something right, eventually if not immediately.

Not enough info to make a good guess. I would presume that making units like crazy would mean that 200 units is not going to take a lot of time. Adding income while making lots of troops, could do it, but I would think adding in enough to offset 200 more units and gain a +600gpt is going to be hard to do by instra.

What was the unit support cost? If it was zero, then adding towns will do little to gain that much gold. If it was hundreds above your income, then that would do the trick. Would need a before and after save to say.

^ what they said, I'm just guessing that you aren't solely building troops, but buildings/roads/new cities as well which all add to your income. But yes more info is needed
