About mod creation

lets say i edit soem the the XML file for my mod. now is there a way to have the regular XML files load with the game but then goto advance and select my mod and load those xml fils or does the load mod not do this?

Your xml files need to be in their own folder in the Mods folder. See this folder for examples of what to do.
