I have no false pretense, I only started reading it after the article in Time magazine about Achewood, but it was well worth it. The stuff is hilarious. Certainly not that easy to get into (the first ones aren't that good), but it is so hilarious and it grows on you. It is at achewood.com. I strongly recommend taking a look. I judged online comics as bad simply from the unfunny Penny Arcade that is very popular but this proves it wrong.

I shall post some of my favorite cartoons to get you started, and I'll try to get the ones that don't need the context of the characters, but the in depth characterization is the best part.

Anyway, the funniest parts are all character based so you have to get into it first. For example, Roast Beef, one of the cats (some of the characters are stuffed animals, but Roast Beef is not), is clinically depressed and programs often, and his best friend Ray is lucky, rich, and likes to "get his bone on." The characterization is so strong all of the characters has their own blog in their own voice. They all have huge backstories, with tons of detail. For example, off the top of my head I know both Ray and RB's (the two main characters) favorite drinks - Ketel One and Guiness with Certs.

I hope you enjoy it.

Wow man, those are pretty good, now I know what to do next time I have nothing to do. :)

I am bumping this because you people will really like it. It's very intelligent, absurd, surreal, and I guarantee you fall in love with the characters.
