Is there an easy way to just pop into a map editor and add coal in my empire. I have a game I've been playing for like 10 hours and I conquered one continent and the Romans another. I'm looking forward to a massive showdown only I just discovered coal and there isn't a single scrap of it on my entire continent. A few turns later, oil and I'll have a total of 4 on my whole continent. Silly...

Anyway, in previous editions there was a file, map editor and you could just add what you wanted. This one I can only edit maps, not saved games, when I got into world builder.

What am I doing wrong?

FireTuner tool in the SDK allows you to place things during a game.

When I open that tool it just says good morning. I assume it's text based?

Is there a way like in the old CIV's to easily do it without knowing how to modify stuff manually?

Go to mydocuments/civilizationV/config.ini and change the line enable tuner to 1. Firetuner should work for you then.

How do I load the game inside fire tuner? Or fire tuner inside the game?

I just start Civ 5, then alt+tab and start FireTuner, alt+tab back and forth and things start working.

If you're using windowed mode, things should be easier, of course.

Does it take a while to activate? I click enable resource plopper, then wheat, then click and nothing happens until about 40s later when all of a sudden I have 50 wheat squares... oops!

Yeah, for me it seems to want to have a couple alt+tabs back and forth before the stuff is initialized. Then the ploppers start working, and you have to be careful of your clicks. ;)

How do you change from a plains to a hill or desert to grassland, add rivers, etc? Possible through firetuner?
