Hello all. I'm a novice modder and new to these forums. Upon playing Civ 5 I, like other people, quickly found there was a gap in gameplay in the absence of Spies. I've since taken up a project to bring them back to life.
The most interesting thing that I've found so far is that in CIV5Units.xml there tags for "Sabotage" "IsReligious" and "StealPlans" that are unapplied to any unit, suggesting to me that espionage and religion were cut late in developement.
I've come up against a number of barriers in my project. I've created a new unit with some limited abilities, but I've little idea how to go about creating new abilities. My guess is I'll need some knowledge of LUAs, but I've searched and cannot find where the coding for other special unit abilities is kept. I've yet to see a guide even touching this aspect of the modding. Would someone provide some direction for me?
