Age of ice problem

i recently installed the bug mod, and have had no problems, i played age of ice before i had that mod but it was a very long time ago. Now i play it and it runs, but i dont get the options bar at the bottom, where you can chose upgrades and move troops etc, can anyone shed any light on this?
