If commanders die near end of age, they don't respawn?

Has this happened to anyone else? I assume it's something that got overlooked. This happened just now, had four commanders and one of them level five. He died a few turns before age transition. Exploration started with three commanders and none of them at level five.

Had it happen before but chalked it up to maybe misremembering or a one time bug.

Assume it didn't respawn eventually?

When commanders die, do they disappear off the civ unlocks tab section that lists all your ageless things - if not, then probably bugged that they disappear.

No, commanders won't respawn on the next age. You just get new units with commanders, but they won't have the experience as they used to have in the previous age.

Commanders absolutely should have the same xp/promotions after age transition?

I'm 12 turns into the next age and nothing so far. I'm not sure what the respawn timer is on them but it was probably at 95% last age when it died.

That is not accurate. Your commanders absolutely carry over. Otherwise you would never be getting commanders that have level 15 etc.
No, you just get a new set of commanders with or without any promotions but not the same ones as you had the previous roll.

Is this what gaslighting is? I just rolled into a new age, I have all my same commanders from the last age (reskinned for new civ) and they have the exact same promotions and XP left to fill. They the same ones.
(Aside from the one I'm missing that died at the end of the age)

Are we misunderstanding you, or are you just very confidently saying something blatantly incorrect?

Typically the commanders comr back at the beginning of new age. I am wondering if this is a glitch for you or if you wait a bit he will come back.

Why would I need to gaslight you for?
The one time I had a Commander die was near the end of an Age. The Commander respawned in the next Age, but with no promotions.
I guess this is what happened to me. I just dont remember having commanders carry over like that.
