I don´t know if this problem will occure when i buy "the real game" but when i play the Demo, start it, choose one of 4 civs, and press "Go" it´s all ok. I loads fine and rather quickly. BUT when it says "Done" and the game is about to start it goes totally blank. The screen is black but the sound is there! If i click i return to the desktop with the words "Error, etc." It says systemfailure and that i have to restart my computer. Should i buy the game and test it or let it be? What if it craches in the real game too.. I think the demo configure itself to highest settings and grafic... And i can´t change it if im not in the game, which craches when i try. Is there an "Option" button you can press in the whole game before i start and do you think i can fix it? My specs are:

Fuijitus Siemens Scenic P300
Pentium 4 2000 mhz - 2 ghz.
512 Memory.
NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440SE with AGP8x.
Soundmax digital audio.

Im sorry if it already is a thread with this problem but i´m so mad that i just could look.

Thx in advance/// An irritated Rue.

I think this is your problem: NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440SE with AGP8x.

That is pretty much the thing that's holding you back from SEEING THE GAME! Drivers for your video card may also be the issue; Be sure to have the latest version. More RAM will help you later on but that's not the case for the moment.

The full game lets you change options before you create a game. I'm not too sure on the demo.

If it is that, its really weird. There are some out there that plays this game with this card and even Geforce 3! Im confused. Today you cant buy new comuters without paying 10-12K. AND i have read the minimum requirements. Why writing down a minimum requirements that does not work? Smart.. Or..?

*double post, my bad*

*nothing to see here*

Your setup is slightly above the preferred requirements except for the card. Again, check on the drivers to see if they're the latest.

Minimum means minimum. If you're trying to run the game on high settings, that's probably not a good idea at the moment. Find a way to lower it.

And nobody tells you to buy a computer anymore. Everybody will tell you to build your own and save lots of money. And high-end computers most certainly do not cost $10,000. You can build a pretty good setup for around $1,000 to $1,500 if you shop right (and I mean for a full setup, including relatively good mouse/keyboard peripherials).
