AI mod recommendation?

Just gave up on another game of Rise and Fall at the dawn of the Industrial era because I'm in an unassailable position. The AI seems to have picked up an alarming habit in this game of not exploring and not settling other continents (possibly because it can't navigate the loyalty mechanic?). This in particular makes them very easy to beat.

I only play on King difficulty due to PTSD memories of tanks getting annihilated by spearmen somewhere back in the earlier parts of the Civ series. I'd rather play against a smarter foe than one that just annoys me by being ridiculously buffed.

Can anyone recommend a mod for the AI that might make them administrate themselves in a less brainless way?

I have found the way around most of the AI short-comings is to play really big games.
Ynamp Giant Terra map, 24 civs, 30 CS. AI blunders by some civs every so often is not as big a gift as on small maps against 8 civs. At marathon pace, you might start forgetting your own plans. :)

Updated for Rise and Fall, not yet for Gathering Storm

Also modders don't have access to .dll code yet so they cannot change "deep" AI mechanisms, only more surface level ones.

Didn't you try to simply google "civ 6 AI mod"? :D

I did but I was struggling to find anything more recent than 6 months old, and also the recommendations seem to change depending on the particular things that bother the player the most.

To Ferocitus - the micromanaging for really large games makes them hard for me to play once I get past mid game.

I really wish the devs would take more account of the way the game changes going from early game to mid game to late game. The interface/administration mechanics stay the same the whole time, and while they work fine early game, I find it often becomes a trudge in the later stages.

You may consider Real Strategy (link in my signature).

Real Strategy...says that it works with Vanilla, R&F and all DLC's....does not say that it works with GS yet? Looks like from their notes they are working on it though,....may take some time.

They is me. I started working on it, the new version should be within couple of weeks. Stay tuned :)

Just gave AI+ a go - sadly doesn't seem to have made much difference (in fact I reached an unassailable position even earlier this time). The main difference it seemed to make was that the civs ate all the city states neighbouring them. They're still completely useless at waging war.

Is the Real Strategy mod directed towards AI?

This is why I almost never play unlimited conquest game in any "big" strategy game which allows on other goals. I have never achieved domination victory in civ5/6 on map bigger than small pangea, and I have never controlled area larger than like 10% of the global land area in paradox interactive games.

Well, second reason is also that inevitable moment when your victory is unavoidable and boring, and third reason is the fact I like watching worlds created by AI more than painting the entire map myself.

Thanks for the mod! Real Strategy seems to be a better mod than AI++. Keep up the good work!
