I'm new to this site
(but certainly not to Civilization), so dun flame me pls
Great Work wif this site Thunderfall! IMHO the best site on Civ3 (better than the Firaxis site). So much that I spent 1 hour reading the posts here & signing up instead of actually playing the game!
Pity about the "band-aid". I suppose they will come up wif better band-aids to cover for this one in future? I tried trading my entire civ (except capital) for one of his cities once, and the AI gave the same dumb response. duh!
I have a different theory behind this one, but am quite sure it's correct. I think u tried to trade for the gold/turn thing. It doesn't mean that gold is worthless, but that the AI simply can't afford that amount! This is in fact a good way of judging how much spare gold/turn the AI has left for trade. I "exploited" (dreaded word) this by doing some false propositiong to figure out his spare cash and then "absorb" all his spare cash by trading away techs etc. I find it's actually a good way to constrict the AI's tech growth since he will always accept the trade (and make tons of extra cash!) (Income from my cities currently 900+, income from other civs currently 1600+)
Also, nice go with the scores, Tetley. I'll see what my next game has to say about that
hehe, playing a goody 2 shoes game for me current 1st try at civ3.
That is, UNTIL I build all my stuff in all my cities and then I start producing 10 tanks each turn or something. Were u a Beta-test player or something?

I'll have a trade that the AI civ would accept, and I add 5 coins and now it "would never accept that", completely absurd and silly. Its basically saying gold is worthless if you want to trade. I don't know how this came about, but its only showed up after the patch.
