Don´t u think that helis should have a pickup options, as the airdrop option, so they can pick foot units up as well as they leave them behind enemy lines.
Just an option that helis could have but not planes like air transport that should only be able to drop and not pick.

(hope i´m diong it right, thread and all, it´s my first one.)

Only one problem, this thread already exists ;)
 
Air Drop exists but theres no way to pick up any unit with an heli in the way that air missons are suposed to work on civ.
You can do it if you stat your heli to be an air unit but not immobile; this way you can go with the heli where ever you want and fill it whit what ever you find but the AI dosen´t understand that.
There should be an option like Air Pick or Air load that with an Imobile air Transport unit (When Empty) when selected then selected a target (There could be more then one unit in a squere so there´s need sto select an unit whitin the units in that tile). The unit whold be automaticly placed in the air transport unit stationde in the city or air base from whitch the misson started.
 
I think this is one of the best ideas I've seen for a while - that is, with the actual chance of being implimented! :D

I would love this feature - can you gues why?
 
Helicopters should be able to pick up units.

I also think there should be transport planes that can land troops on open terrain (like grassland, plains, desert, and tundra). The transports should also be able to pick them up. Additionally, transports should have greater range than helos but I would make it possible for transports to be shot down by enemy planes on air superiority duty.

excellent idea. so you actually get a chance to put ur AA guns and fighters to good use.

Just a question, if I make a AA gun unit, and check the 'Air Superiority' feature, would the AA gun be able to function like a fighter?
 
No, but it could defent the square where it its ( with units in it ), or a a square range like mid. age cannon. Also mobile AA could hide in mountains or jungles, and can be seen only by radars or scouting fighters.
 
But I can give my AA gun a fairly big range of operation, let say 8, this way, if I put it on Air Superiority, it will defend the 4 squares next to it right?
