Alien Crossfire wont run on my commuter?

For some reason I cant get the Alien Crossfire Demo to work on my computer and i was wondering if anyone has an explination ?

I also got a new computer so i was wondering if it might work on that well(or at all)?

Im really starting to get anoyed since i love the game but i cant get the expansion

Have you installed the patch? I don't know if it will work on a demo, but it's worth a shot....

i cant get the game up at all... do i need to? Its not really the Demo i want either i just downloaded it because i wanted to see if it would work on my computer

Add or change this line in your Alpha Centauri.ini file.

[PREFERENCES]
ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

There is also an XP fix available from Firaxis that might help. Add this if your sound doesnt work well:
