All Achieving Zeus

A local bar where I live has 50 different beers from around the world, they distribute cards that allow you to check them off as you drink each one. When you finish the card they ring a bell, give you a tshirt and put your name on a plack. This system ruthlessly exploits the part of my brain that enjoys checking things off a to-do list and is quite similar to the achievement system ubiquitous in games now. I'm much less obliged to participate in the digital one, though in practice they're both horrendous uses of time and money.

Ha! That sounds.... dangerous. I'd be tempted to split it across 10 sessions, though 5 might be a little more realistic. How close are you? :)

Nice! So you got it then? :)
Yes. The first city I built was close to my capital. It didn't really get attacked that much. The second city was a bit further, and settled right near a barbarian hut. Still, the barbs didn't attack it enough. I built another settler, and together with two warriors, moved the settler to the middle of an area that had absolutely nothing in a 12 square radius. I disbanded the warriors, and 4 turns later I got the achievement.

Oh, it's not something you do in one night. It's something you do over a year, or if you're an alcoholic, a week. A bartender once told me she guessed most people did a card each term of school, or roughly 12 weeks. The draft beers are sold as pints, and they're all microbrews so higher proof than the domestic stuff sold predominantly in Wisconsin or Manitoba or wherever it is that icicles form on beards. The more international beers come in bottles ranging from 12oz to 24oz, so sometimes you would even want to share with a friend. Doing ten or even five beers in a sitting is not advisable--unless you're 21 and people still forgive you when you piss your pants.

I'm working on my third card now, or as an economist would put it, my third $200 dollar tshirt.

Is it the Flying Saucer? There are a couple of those out there that have the same kinda deal. They only allow you to do 4 new beers a night though
