I read somewhere that if your in Anarchy and get a Golden Age from a unit attack, you go out of anarachy. Is this true?

Also, I know you can build stuff by chopping down forests, but can you build things in Anarchy with a great leader or by disbanding units?

1) No, this is not true. A lot of players avoid having the GA during anarchy. I had an experience getting the GA (by accident) right after having a revolution, and the anarchy lasted 5 turns...

2) You can still chop the forests and disband units during anarchy, and the shields actually add up to what is required to build things. However, they don't get *built* even when you have all the needed shields, unless you are out of anarchy. :)

You can finish buildings during anarchy (by chopping down forests etc). The advisor pops up and will say sth like "Revolutionary, Rome has completed a temple..."
IIRC, there was even a SOTD about it.

If you've just discovered republic and you generate a golden age, you should revolt immediately. Three quarters of a golden age in republic are far better than a whole golden age in despotism. The despotism penalty kills most of a golden age anyway.
