Any LOTR Mods coming for Civ4?

Ummmm the Corsairs are part of Harad really...

Actually they arn't quite the same. The Corsairs are, as you said, decendents of the Numenorians, but have since become pirates and mercenaries. They're one of the few sea-faring races in Tolkiens works. While the Haradrim are a dark skinned warlike people. Umbar was actually founded so as to be able to take tribute from the tribes of the Haradrim. Anyway it doesn't really matter, like I said I was only suggesting it to bolster the ranks of the civs.

oh now man, not this discussion again, it's LOTM all over again. they've been at that mod for over two years, and still haven't go it out yet. It should be great when if it does though. I haven't looked at the civ 3 C&C for a while now, so it may already be out.

What about locked alliances?
Should there be locked alliances in the game?

Also here is a Middle Earth Map for the scenario..

Does it have a proper amount of resources yet?

I don't think there should be locked alliances as most of the "good" races didn't really work that closely together and at least two of the "bad" downright turned on each other. Maybe just have certain races liking others more.

That can be done with the sliders: Example

-4 You stand in the way of my domination of Middle Earth

+2 You have helped me get rid of Rohan.

Yes and Isengard turned on the other evil factions, well he would have.:mischief:

All suggestions are welcome. Here are the civilizations and leaders that I'm going to include:

Gondor: Aragorn, Anarion

Rohan: Theoden, Eomer

Lothlorien: Galadriel, Celeborn

Mirkwood: Thranduil

Numenor: Elendil, Isildur

Mordor: Sauron

Haradwaith: I don't know who they could have so I'll take suggestions.

Isengard: Saruman

Hobbiton: Bilbo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee

I haven't thought about what units to put in the mod yet.

And for Unique Units?

k ppl well there r some things that i c as right that ur saying. i do think it would be nice toi have some dwarves, as theyre a major part of tolkiens works, but i dont want too many civs, as there were mostly two divisions in tolkien (culturally): the ppl w/ lots of social, military, and cultural power (from gondor to hobbiton) and the easterlings and other "barbarian" tribes. however, as these barbs arent really divided into civs, just little tribes and stuff, i dont think it would be acurate to give them too much of a share in the game

in defense of my two most attacked civs, numenor and hobbiton, id like to say this. The numenorians (as all tolkien buffs know) controlled most of the relevant map during the second age, and although we arent dealing w/ the second age, there are still descendants of numenor: the dunedain. my numenor civ will cover all of arnor and basically just be scattered (but VERY VERY good) troops who rnt quite unified but will be eventually. as for hobbiton, the hobbits rnt getting enough geosocial credit here! they r a virtually unknown society with warrior ancestors who play a large part in the books. badass civs like mordor dont even know they exist. but if they were to expand and become a really cool, powerful civ, they would rise out of their little corner of the map and kick everyone elses ass.

id also like to mention that im starting out the game right where the two towers starts (end of the the third age)...so civs are at their most well-known (for instance isengard, which is going to be a civ, will start w/ tons of troops but only one city.)

I have a question. Is your name Gandalf123444 on some other forums?

Also how far along are you in the scenario? Is it just ideas or do you have the map or something done?

Alright I just checked the map and there is not enough rescources on it, but that can be fixed. Maybe someone can revive a LordoftheMods for Civ4...:mischief:

No I'm not Gandalf123444 to answer your first question.

As to your second, I have created my own map which is done except for resources and cities. I have made half of the civilizations but I can't get an unit added.

As a side note on the map, I have made it in the way where it is actually a round world. I used the Tolkien map but where it ended I extended the land a little, then made up a random costline. I left a long enough distance between the two ends of the contenient to keep anyone to see or sail to the other side with the available technology.

I have followed unit guides EXACTLY and my unit has never worked! I have all the programming right, but I think there's something wrong with the graphics. It has become maddening.

Damn that sucks... Maybe you can release the first version without unique units and use some FallfromHeaven units??
