Any tips to help a rusty Civ2 player

I was wondering if there are any General Strategy and tips that would help me (or anyone who has not played Civ2 in a while) get back into the game.

I have recently decided to start playing the Civ2 GOTM so that I can get easely acusstomed to the Deadline and such. Though im not here talking about the GOTM, I am here looking help ror a rusty civ2 player .

IIRC, you already know about the SSC. Peace first, trade a lot (& boat chain) should be enough to do well.

Read through some of the older Spoiler threads. Also read up on Power Democracy, Trade, Diplomacy and the Super Science City.

Hehe, I am in the Civ2 Demogame, but I noticed that the level of activity has, well. Kind of droped to seeing 1 post every 1 week :-/.

Apparently it has been put on ice, and it's not that fun to spend hours per week on a game that only gets 2 responses. Anyone is indeed very welcome to download the game and have an opinion...
