Hi guys,
Decided to create my own workshop thread like Dadais, Gapetit and others have here in the SL, as similar to them I've got so many projects on the go it's hard even for me to keep track, let alone anyone else lol! Also in a recent convo with my old modding buddy MetroPolis he made a cheeky comment that I'll never finish anything, and so he was rather shocked when I then presented him with a list of just how much I actually had finished and released or was about to, which got me thinking about how many of my releases are just quiet little posts in old forgotten threads here and there around the forums that are easy to miss resulting in many people not actually knowing just how many things I've tinkered with! So similar to Daidas I'm gonna keep a master list in this top post and then post updates in the comments when various milestones are achieved! As you'll see by the big list and massive post below it's no wonder it's taken me so long to get these out, I really did take on too much for my own good but as fellow creators I'm sure you all know what it feels like when those creative juices start flowing and you just can't help yourself haha. Six years is certainly a hell of a lot longer than I planned as I've had a few things slow me down over the journey such as the big lost scenario preservation project, taking on the staff position here at CivFanatics sharing news & running their social media pages, and some annoying chronic health issues in RL making it hard to work/concentrate (brain fog, lethargy, dizziness etc) but I've scaled down the staff work I'm doing for CFC a bit and my RL health has improved again (recently rejoined the gym to do weight lifting and have been loving it) so I've been making lots of progress on my Civ2 mod projects lately and hope to get them all released over the coming 12mths. So watch this space, like as in literally this space I've just made here for watching! Oh and with many of the finished ones you'll see me saying I haven't gone public yet outside of the site (putting on my promoter hat and advertising them to lots of Civ & retro groups), this is because I really want my main Civ2 tour video (for my big Civ video series) finished before I do and thankfully after all these years it's very nearly is finished now (as it's unfortunately kind of been a chicken and the egg thing where my scenario videos & documentation advertise and need the big Civ2 video finished but the big video needs my scenarios finished to include them in it lol).

2019-2023 - MetroPolis & Blake's Civ2 MGE Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Mod Project
After 5 years of work 'the big one' where almost every part of Civ2 was changed in some way was released here on the forums at the end of 2023 although I haven't gone public with it outside of this site yet. Am currently working on a bug fix 1.1 patch, a HoMM1 addon, and later will do a ToT conversion (more details in development thread).

A quick little 'demaster' of John Valdez's Civ1 Graphics mod for Civ2 using authentic converted Civ1 graphics from 2D to 2.5D isometric. KasiusKlej's took my work and expanded the mod even further. Haven't gone public with it outside of this site yet.

2021-2023 - Civ2 MGE Better Terrain Graphics for MGE Mod
Was meant to be a quick little project but got delayed until I finally released it in 2023. Takes the awesome terrain used in Eivind's Colonialism: The Age of Discovery Scenario along with some other graphics thrown in by me and applies them to Civ2 for a better vanilla MGE experience. Haven't gone public with it outside of this site yet.

2021 - Civ2 MGE Warcraft Scenario Addon
A very quick and dirty graphics transfer applying AltF18's custom Warcraft graphics over to MaTT_SMiT's old scenario with a few extra bells and whistles thrown in by me. Haven't gone public with it outside of this site yet. @gapetit has expressed interest in doing a ToT conversion with freshly imported WC2 graphics which I can probably help with so maybe a future collaboration is in order heh.

The big one.. that so many of my other projects fed into. A crazy expanded recreation of the opening NY mission from Red Alert 2 in Civ2. Project blew out massively but is finally almost finished and just needs some final testing, video and documentation work. ETA hopefully next few months.

2021 - Civ2 MGE Dead World Reborn Scenario Remaster
Was meant to be another quick little project fixing and finishing Luka Rejec & co's old Dead Worlds map & modpack based on Saturn's moon Iapetus but it had some issues so I put it aside to focus on other projects. Recently picked it back up again and solved some of the technical issues holding me back so it's pretty much ready to go, just needs some final testing and documentation work. ETA hopefully next few months.

2019 - Civ2 MGE Test Of Time Graphics For MGE Mod Remaster
Another quick and little project remastering VWPsycho1984's old ToT graphics for MGE mod. I put it aside as it's kind of that mod you create for fun but no one (including me) would ever seriously want to actually use it as there's no point haha. I recently gave it an overhaul though as I've learned a lot over the last few years so it's looking much better than in 2019 so I'll release it at some point but am more focused on other projects. 2018 - Civ2 MGE Attila's Conquest 2 – Play As Barbarians Scenario
One of the original scenarios I came to this forum in 2018 to work on. After successfully playing and winning a game as the Barbs in Civ1 I went on to do the same in Civ2 and designed a simple scenario allowing others to do the same but never released it. It was done in 2019 but I just put it on ice as I wanted to finish my Civ2 tour video first.. 6 years later I'm still going hahaha! No project thread here at CFC but I do have a ModDB page for it. ETA hopefully next few months.

1999-2001 - Civ2 MGE Star Wars Battle For Hoth Scenario
My original 90s Star Wars scenario that started it all. I originally created a website and posted about it on Apolyton in the early 2000s but never released it as Civ2's aircraft carrier 'runaway AI' issue ruined it (as I wanted carriers that behaved like battleships) and then I stopped playing Civ2 for nearly 2 decades. Even though it's super old, doesn't look great and I have little motivation to do any thing more with it I really wan't closure on this one and ironically when I showed up here in 2017-18ish it was with the intention of releasing this one only to somehow accidentally get myself involved in a ton of other new Civ2 mod projects instead haha. There's no thread at CFC for this project but I do have a ModDB page for it if people want to see what it looked like. MetroPolis took a copy of it and backported Fairlines excellent star wars graphics on top of it which made it look quite nice so I'll release that version as well. If I recall from the Krakens in the ToT Fantasy scenario ToT allows for proper 'battle carriers' that don't runaway so maybe I'll do a ToT conversion one day. ETA hopefully next few months.

2021 - Civ2 MGE Playstation Graphics For Civ2 PC Mod Remaster
Another quick and little project to finish and improve Wiron's Civ2 Playstation graphics mod for Civ2 PC as he never converted the cities, units and special resources. I successfully extracted them off my own imported copy of the Civ2 PS1 disc so it's just a matter of getting them into the PC image files! I was going to do it quickly but it got put on hold while I worked on bigger things. You'd think this would be another one of those crazy crossover mods that no one would ever want or need yet surprisingly I've seen around 4 or 5 people over the last few years posting in the civ communities that they always preferred the PS1 version and wish the PC version looked like that, each to their own lol, but at least there's some demand after all so I guess I better finish this at some point lol. I'll try and get it sorted soon..

2022 - Civ2 MGE Dune 2 Dynasty Scenario
After swearing I wouldn't take on any new mod projects I started this project and then the SMAC one lol. This ended up being a lot of work that took a big chunk out of my 2022 & 23 but I'm very happy with how it's looking, as dissatisfied with all the old Dune scenarios out there for Civ2 I really wanted to make a proper authentic looking one using actual Dune 2 graphics. I'm also toying with the idea of doing an enhanced ToT version with Dune 2000 graphics one day too. This one is so close to the finishline I nearly put it in the above nearly finished catagory instead but there's still a few big things I need to do. Very happy with what I'm seeing though so expect more cool teasers in the dev thread over the coming months.

2024 - Civ2 MGE Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri Scenario Merger Project
After swearing I wouldn't take on any new mod projects I started the Dune 2 project and then this one lol. John Valdez has vanished again and it annoyed me that his old SMAC project teased the possibility of an awesome SMAC scenario for Civ2 to so many people has gone on for 20 years with no sign of completion so I decided to merge his project with some others I found and redo/overhaul everything with freshly converted SMAC graphics. What was meant to be a quick merger project has blown out into a massive project that's eaten up a huge chunk of my 2024! However things are going well and I can see the finish line in sight. Some of the stuff I'm doing you wouldn't believe was in MGE haha, and yes don't worry everything I create/convert I'm doing in full colour and saving backups of for a future ToT version too. Expect more cool teasers in the dev thread over the coming months.

PRELIMINARY WORK STARTED (STILL A LONG WAY TO GO)
2020 - Test of Time Master of Magic Jr Scenario Remaster
A big extended version of the old Microprose MoM Jr scenario ading the Myrror dark world in using ToT's multi world system similar to original MoM's 2 world system. Ah man I feel bad about this one as Gapetit kindly converted it for me, then MetroPolis and I did some preliminary work setting up the tech tree and units (they'd locked out a lot of good stuff for some reason), and we even did some preliminary graphics conversion work as I'd planned to do Civ2 graphics and imported original MoM graphics variants. However it all got put on hold when my MGE projects started to massively blow out and I decided to put all things ToT related on ice until I'm done. So who knows when I'll get back to this one.. sorry I don't have better news.

Civ2 MGE Master of Myrror Jr Scenario
More recently I've pondered the idea of back converting the Myrror part of the MoM Jr ToT scenario above back to MGE and calling it Master of Myrror Jr as a tribute to Drifts excellent Master of Myrror mod for Civ3 based on Master of Magic's dark mirror world. It would basically be the existing Master of Magic Jr scenario for MGE with all the enhancements we're doing in the ToT version applied as a fun alternative to the original. MGE's palette is pretty limited in purples but I did some preliminary tests and they actually came out pretty good. However this one is obviously on hold until the above ToT scenario is finished.

Test of Time Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and 1 Mod Conversion Projects
As you can see by the pictures below preliminary work has already begun on a ToT conversion of the big HoMM2 mod and naturally I'll do a HoMM1 version too. Gapetit has kindly already converted the scenario files over for me so I just have to sort out all the graphics and any improvements I wish to make. I've already done big beautiful pedia images of all buildings and I've created my first ever custom ToT GUI based on the one I did for MGE. I've even experimented with animating units using extracted frames from the original HoMM games however that's a lot of work so no guarantee on that one. Unfortunately like with everything else ToT related this is now on hold until I finish my MGE projects sorry. Keep an eye on the development thread for updates on this when the time comes.

2019 Test of Time Attila's Conquest 3 – Play As Barbarians Scenario
Much like the MGE version I've actually already created a scenario in 2019 where you can play as Barbarians however I didn't finish it due to hitting some snags (caused by my lack of knowledge in ToT at the time). In theory this might be one of the first ToT scenarios I release after I'm done with MGE. We shall see!

Civ2 MGE Final Fantasy 6 Scenario
Dustin Dunn worked on a very impressive looking FF6 scenario back in the day but sadly never finished it. I thought about trying to finish it like I did with his FF4 mod and have with so many other peoples old unfinished projects listed above, but this one probably is a bridge too far as he didn't finish the custom tech tree and it'd be a lot of work setting all that up. Kinda hope much like Dustin did that someone else can finish what he started (see thread for download link) but accept that it'll probably never happen. Finishing the original FF6 is still on my to do list so maybe when I'm playing that and learning it's world in full it'll tempt me to revisit this idea. No promises though..

Test of Time Cyberpunk Night Themed Scenarios (Blade Runner, Deus Ex, Blood Dragon, Tron, 2077 etc)
I've contemplated a few times over the years about the cool idea of a Cyberpunk themed scenario but it's too big an undertaking for me alone at this stage so it's unlikely this one will happen but am open to collaborations in the future (when I've finished all the MGE stuff). 2021-2023 - Civ2 MGE Better Terrain Graphics for MGE Mod
Was meant to be a quick little project but got delayed until I finally released it in 2023. Takes the awesome terrain used in Eivind's Colonialism: The Age of Discovery Scenario along with some other graphics thrown in by me and applies them to Civ2 for a better vanilla MGE experience. 2021 - Civ2 MGE Warcraft Scenario Addon
A very quick and dirty graphics transfer applying AltF18's custom Warcraft graphics over to MaTT_SMiT's old scenario with a few extra bells and whistles thrown in by me. Haven't gone public with it outside of this site yet. @gapetit has expressed interest in doing a ToT conversion with freshly imported WC2 graphics which I can probably help with so maybe a future collaboration is in order heh.

Was meant to be another quick little project fixing and finishing Luka Rejec & co's old Dead Worlds map & modpack based on Saturn's moon Iapetus but it had some issues so I put it aside to focus on other projects. Recently picked it back up again and solved some of the technical issues holding me back so it's pretty much ready to go, just needs some final testing and documentation work. 2018 - Civ2 MGE Attila's Conquest 2 – Play As Barbarians Scenario
One of the original scenarios I came to this forum in 2018 to work on. After successfully playing and winning a game as the Barbs in Civ1 I went on to do the same in Civ2 and designed a simple scenario allowing others to do the same but never released it. It was done in 2019 but I just put it on ice as I wanted to finish my Civ2 tour video first.. 6 years later I'm still going hahaha! No project thread here at CFC but I do have a ModDB page for it. ETA hopefully next few months.

1999-2001 - Civ2 MGE Star Wars Battle For Hoth Scenario
My original 90s Star Wars scenario that started it all. I originally created a website and posted about it on Apolyton in the early 2000s but never released it as Civ2's aircraft carrier 'runaway AI' issue ruined it (as I wanted carriers that behaved like battleships) and then I stopped playing Civ2 for nearly 2 decades. Even though it's super old, doesn't look great and I have little motivation to do any thing more with it I really wan't closure on this one and ironically when I showed up here in 2017-18ish it was with the intention of releasing this one only to somehow accidentally get myself involved in a ton of other new Civ2 mod projects instead haha. There's no thread at CFC for this project but I do have a ModDB page for it if people want to see what it looked like. MetroPolis took a copy of it and backported Fairlines excellent star wars graphics on top of it which made it look quite nice so I'll release that version as well. If I recall from the Krakens in the ToT Fantasy scenario ToT allows for proper 'battle carriers' that don't runaway so maybe I'll do a ToT conversion one day. ETA hopefully next few months.

2021 - Civ2 MGE Playstation Graphics For Civ2 PC Mod Remaster
Another quick and little project to finish and improve Wiron's Civ2 Playstation graphics mod for Civ2 PC as he never converted the cities, units and special resources. I successfully extracted them off my own imported copy of the Civ2 PS1 disc so it's just a matter of getting them into the PC image files! I was going to do it quickly but it got put on hold while I worked on bigger things. You'd think this would be another one of those crazy crossover mods that no one would ever want or need yet surprisingly I've seen around 4 or 5 people over the last few years posting in the civ communities that they always preferred the PS1 version and wish the PC version looked like that, each to their own lol, but at least there's some demand after all so I guess I better finish this at some point lol. I'll try and get it sorted soon..

2022 - Civ2 MGE Dune 2 Dynasty Scenario
After swearing I wouldn't take on any new mod projects I started this project and then the SMAC one lol. This ended up being a lot of work that took a big chunk out of my 2022 & 23 but I'm very happy with how it's looking, as dissatisfied with all the old Dune scenarios out there for Civ2 I really wanted to make a proper authentic looking one using actual Dune 2 graphics. I'm also toying with the idea of doing an enhanced ToT version with Dune 2000 graphics one day too. This one is so close to the finishline I nearly put it in the above nearly finished catagory instead but there's still a few big things I need to do. Very happy with what I'm seeing though so expect more cool teasers in the dev thread over the coming months.

2024 - Civ2 MGE Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri Scenario Merger Project
After swearing I wouldn't take on any new mod projects I started the Dune 2 project and then this one lol. John Valdez has vanished again and it annoyed me that his old SMAC project teased the possibility of an awesome SMAC scenario for Civ2 to so many people has gone on for 20 years with no sign of completion so I decided to merge his project with some others I found and redo/overhaul everything with freshly converted SMAC graphics. 2020 - Test of Time Master of Magic Jr Scenario Remaster
A big extended version of the old Microprose MoM Jr scenario ading the Myrror dark world in using ToT's multi world system similar to original MoM's 2 world system. Ah man I feel bad about this one as Gapetit kindly converted it for me, then MetroPolis and I did some preliminary work setting up the tech tree and units (they'd locked out a lot of good stuff for some reason), and we even did some preliminary graphics conversion work as I'd planned to do Civ2 graphics and imported original MoM graphics variants. However it all got put on hold when my MGE projects started to massively blow out and I decided to put all things ToT related on ice until I'm done. So who knows when I'll get back to this one.. sorry I don't have better news.

Civ2 MGE Master of Myrror Jr Scenario
More recently I've pondered the idea of back converting the Myrror part of the MoM Jr ToT scenario above back to MGE and calling it Master of Myrror Jr as a tribute to Drifts excellent Master of Myrror mod for Civ3 based on Master of Magic's dark mirror world. It would basically be the existing Master of Magic Jr scenario for MGE with all the enhancements we're doing in the ToT version applied as a fun alternative to the original. MGE's palette is pretty limited in purples but I did some preliminary tests and they actually came out pretty good. However this one is obviously on hold until the above ToT scenario is finished.

Test of Time Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and 1 Mod Conversion Projects
As you can see by the pictures below preliminary work has already begun on a ToT conversion of the big HoMM2 mod and naturally I'll do a HoMM1 version too. Gapetit has kindly already converted the scenario files over for me so I just have to sort out all the graphics and any improvements I wish to make. I've already done big beautiful pedia images of all buildings and I've created my first ever custom ToT GUI based on the one I did for MGE. I've even experimented with animating units using extracted frames from the original HoMM games however that's a lot of work so no guarantee on that one. Unfortunately like with everything else ToT related this is now on hold until I finish my MGE projects sorry. Keep an eye on the development thread for updates on this when the time comes.

2019 Test of Time Attila's Conquest 3 – Play As Barbarians Scenario
Much like the MGE version I've actually already created a scenario in 2019 where you can play as Barbarians however I didn't finish it due to hitting some snags (caused by my lack of knowledge in ToT at the time). In theory this might be one of the first ToT scenarios I release after I'm done with MGE. We shall see!

Civ2 MGE Final Fantasy 6 Scenario
Dustin Dunn worked on a very impressive looking FF6 scenario back in the day but sadly never finished it. I thought about trying to finish it like I did with his FF4 mod and have with so many other peoples old unfinished projects listed above, but this one probably is a bridge too far as he didn't finish the custom tech tree and it'd be a lot of work setting all that up. Kinda hope much like Dustin did that someone else can finish what he started (see thread for download link) but accept that it'll probably never happen. Finishing the original FF6 is still on my to do list so maybe when I'm playing that and learning it's world in full it'll tempt me to revisit this idea. No promises though..
