I've had some odd things too. I've had two hangs and one crash, more hits than I remember having in one game since early patches. (But I do seem to usually get at least one in a game.) Both hangs (100% cpu busy, nothing happening) were while I was using the J command and moving the cursor to the destination. The crash was as I captured a town. In all three cases I tried to recreate the problem but unlike yours I couldn't make it happen again. So there isn't much info to go on, hard to guess if there's any common element.
I'm REALLY glad to hear that I wasn't the only one having "crash" problems, among other anomalies! All said, I had three crashes, which included two lock-ups and one fatal error (system will shut down) message.
The first "lock-up" required a restart, but the damn autosave didn't do its job and I ended up replaying about turns in which I ATTEMPTED to reconstruct my previous moves that landed me a Great Leader and subsequent Army--alas, no GL. Grrrrrrrrr
Another similar lock-up (again shortly following acquiring a GL--hmmm) also required a reboot, but this time the autosave had preserved the GL--whew!
I also experienced that "fatal" crash when the computer was in its movement phase for the Germans. But after about ten attempts at replaying that position from the autosave, and having the same crash at the exact same spot, I finally had to go back to a previous autosave from two years previous and continue the game from that point.
Lastly, my foreign advisor screen was not working at all! First, about half of the Civs didn't even show up on the interface, and even among those that did, it was useless since none of the colored lines designating "at war with," "alliances," "embargos," etc., were working. This was very frustrating, especially when trying to keep track of the multiple wars, alliances, etc., that were taking place. And not being able to check some of these things certainly affected some of my decisions considering that I was trying to keep a good rep in case of a UN vote.
