I had really hoped that the Africa map from the Scramble scenario would be available as a script for singleplayer.

Same here. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't add any new maps. One of my problems with Civ V is that I can never find a map script that I like enough. I'd probably enjoy Continents Plus if they didn't put all the CS's on the islands for some reason.
