I usually leave my USB drive on the floor, near the computer, so I know where it is at all times. It's not in any danger. But two days ago, I find it, horrified that the USB drive is broken. The USB part of it - the part that connects the drive to the computer - is bent at a weird angle. The little carry-along strap is broken off. The write-protection tab was broken off. I put it back together and it still works. But are they supposed to break like that? How could I have broken it?

It sounds like Plexus said, someone stepped on it.

No damage though, so everything is h4ppy - er - happy . . .

It sounds too damaged for someone to have stepped on it, or do you use shoes inside?

Maybe someone accidently got it under a chair and sat on it?

Possibly, but usually the drive is plugged into the computer so there should be no trouble with someone stepping on it with a chair. Also, the thing was damaged, but I could still put it back together and it still worked, so it wasn't damaged that badly.
