The moment when more than one nation takes on the quest of world domination at a given time will cause the world to rise up in defense, to try and stop these two powers from swallowing the rest of the world. The battle of the world vs the aggressors can be called Armaggeddon.

The Current Events & The Scene As It Is Set:

Over the past few years, China has gathered one of the world's largest standing armies and is making its presence felt along its borders. Even the tourists that come to gaze at the magnificent Great Wall are caught off guard by the surprisingly large quantity of military, merely standing around. As if waiting for the first shot to be fired. In the meantime, other countries have regarded it as nothing more than idle threats. America and The United Kingdom's leaders focus their political agendas inward in improving their own economies and culture. But with China's growing military, its neighbors have become suspicious. India, in response has picked up its military spending and has a growing army. It's also rumored that they have a crude nuclear weapon in their arsenal, but it hasn't been confirmed. Russia, while cautious, has tried diplomacy as a new and unusual tactic for russian leaders rather than their hardline approach of the past. In an effort to improve Russia's image in the world, Putin has talked with China's president, Jintao. Japan has also undergone talks with China, but thus far has been unsuccessful in even keeping their attention long enough for a full day of meetings. Every meeting they have, Jintao and his officials have walked out halfway through. Meanwhile, Europe has broken off its Union subtly as all nations involved have turned their eyes inward at their struggling economies. In an opposite turn of events, thousands of years of fighting in the middle east has began to slow down. The leaders of the arab nations spent months working out a plan that would unite the entire region as one government. The entire world celebrated as it had appeared to be the peace that they had been striving for so long.

One Man's Story:

This is the account of Robert Morgan, from Florida, who was on vacation in India the day of the attack.

"It was horrible. I've never seen anything like this in my life. One moment, I was sitting in my car... the next moment, I heard the most frightening thunder ever in my life. As if Hell itself was rising from beneath us. But this roar, it came from a few miles away. Even still, I was able to get out of my car and look on at the sight before me. With my eyes wide open and fear running through my whole body, I saw a red and black cloud coming up from the ground. I've seen pictures of the A-Bomb, but this was like nothing I could have ever imagined. It was actually real, not on a paper, not on television. What I saw before me was a city of millions of people, destroyed instantly."

The Events That Followed:

It was blatantly obvious who was responsible for the attack. Not more than half an hour before the explosion, China issued a declaration of war against India, followed by an alliance with The Middle Eastern Union. Across every television and radio channel in the world, news of the attack spread. Less than an hour after the explosion the entire world set out to stop China's aggression. America, Russia and Britain led the opposition and were nicknamed 'Allied Defenders'. Many African and South American countries along with Mexico, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Japan and Italy also declared war on China. As it was now, the Middle East was only at war with America, India, Russia and the UK. As of this point, however, the Allied Defenders had yet to launch their counter-attack. They were unprepared, believing Jintao to only be bluffing until the attack had already begun. Many were calling this Armageddon. The battle of good vs evil.

README

Credit To Mongoloid Cow for creation of the map.
I slightly customized it to allow certain things.

SCENARIO DETAILS:
I realize that it's a .sav file. I wanted the scenario to start with India already nuked
and alliances already formed, so this was the only way that I could do it. This way, you
also get to see almost the whole map at the start and have communications with every civ.

UNIT CHANGES:
Riflemen, I changed to invisible and only buildable by the Middle East, to act as
terrorists. In future versions, I may get a custom graphic and create the new unit, but
that would require more work and the scenario is playable as it is. They have an attack of
10 and a defense of 6. In future versions, I may lower their defense to 2, since if a
terrorist is caught his cover is blown and shouldn't have much defense. They have bombard
ability but I haven't seen that used yet, so the AI might not know how. They also have
hidden nationality which adds another level of difficulty. You know, and I know, that they
come from the Middle East, but they acted "independantly" from any nation.

I removed Warriors, Archers, Spearman, Swordsman, Chariot, Horseman, Pikeman, Longbowmen,
Knights, Catapults and Cannons. And I made Modern Armor unique to America.

I made Tactical Nuke unique to the Middle East and gave it Hidden Nationality and Invisible.

I also removed Galley, Caravel, Frigate and Galleon and made Carriers unique to America
since in the real world, America is the only country with carriers. I also made AEGIS
Cruisers and Stealh Bombers/Fighers unique to America. France, Russia, Germany and America
keep their original unique units.

For Infantry, I gave them an attack of 10 and a defense of 10 and they no longer require
rubber. In the real world, Infantry are used often as attackers and I wanted a civ without
resources to still be able to build them. Riflemen do NOT upgrade to Infantry, but Infantry
do still upgrade to Mech Infantry.

PLAYABILITY:
Right now, you can only play as China. In future versions, I may change that and upload
several .SAV files where you can play as other nations. This scenario has only been tested
on Civ3. I don't know if it works on PTW. If it does, please let me know.

Thanks for reading, and have fun playing. Be sure to give me feedback in the thread.

I don't know much about the other fleet but at least England and France have carriers. England has 2 or 3 and France 2 (one of them always being in repair which means one active only).

I wasn't aware of that. Maybe I'll add some for them. I can place a carrier in France with 1/3 hp to emphasize the repairing carrier as well. Thanks for the info.

S Africa is too high (geographically), and i think the naval units should be added/upgraded.

More cities probably would add alot more to this scenario, in my opinion.

I also think a larger map would certainly be better.

The storyline is good, but there are a few flaws in it. As pointed out by someone else, the USA isn't the only nation with Aircraft Carriers. AEGIS cruisers also I believe are at least used by the British navy.

India has had the Atomic Bomb since 1974, and currently have roughly 100 nukes in their arsenal, though none of these are ICBM's. currently.

I hope you've given ICBM's to China, UK, USA, Russia, and France.

Oh, and China has the Hydrogen Bomb, in case you wish to use that in the story instead of the Atomic Bomb. It is VERY unlikely that an Atomic Bomb would destoy a city by itself, though a Hydrogen Bomb theoretically could.

For now, I was merely going for playability and didn't want long waits between turns. I also like the distance that bombers can reach on smaller maps, since it wouldn't make sense for a bomber in France to only be able to bomb the western half of Germany. I understand that PTW has a fix for this, though. Once I get PTW, I'll probably redo the scenario at 200x200 or larger.

My next update to the scenario will give carriers to those that need them, and I'll do research on whether the UK has AEGIS cruisers. If they do, I'll give them some.

I'll also update the story more accurately as well as the scenario by giving India a few more nukes. As it is, the first turn for the AIs though, they drop about 10 nukes on China and whatever countries they've captured. I didn't give nukes to UK or France, but I will in the next version. Maybe only Tactical Nukes though to stop the AIs from launching everything they got on the first turn.

And I will update the story to include the H-Bomb, rather than A-Bomb.

Thanks for the feedback.

Wondering how cool it would look to build this scenario on a huge sized map with Infantry covering the landscape on their march to the north-west.

I'll move S. Africa in the next version, you're right.

Not sure about having more naval units. As it is, they're EVERYWHERE. I will add the Carriers/AEGIS as stated earlier though.

The Ironclads in the game act as Coast Guard, BTW. Maybe I should add a couple more of them but make them immobile with a long range bombard. Hmm....

Nope!

Why not just increase the bomber's range in the editor?

Heres a list of countries with Carriers:
USA: 11 + 1 in reserve
UK: 2 + 1 in reserve
India: 1 + 1 in reserve (another one to be bought from Russia)
Brazil: 1 + 1(this second aircraft carrier was built during the Second World War by the British [in 1945 to be precise], so draw your own conslusions about its effectiveness)
France: 1 (another one in construction)
Russia: 1 (down from 5 in 1990)
Spain: 1
Argentina: 0 + 1 in reserve
China: 0 (1 in construction and another one to be bought from Russia)

Also, Russia has 6 ships that are equivelant to AEGIS cruisers.

The Civ3 Editor only allows a maximum bombard range of 8, if I'm not mistaken. Only exception are ICBMs, which have infinite bombard range. I tried changing bombers by giving them infinite bombard range, didn't work. I have no idea why.

In PTW, the work is done for you.

BTW, for all that are interested: I've just bought PTW and I'm working on a 180x180 version of this scenario using Kal-El's map. It's coming along nicely, I've placed all of the cities and I'm working on the specs of it. I expect that by the end of the week, I should have a working version of it to download.

Thanks a whole lot. I really appreciate you looking that up for me. In the next version, this will be used as well as the new 180x180 one that I'm working on.
