Art Problem

I was opening some folders and then noticed that there is only a movie folder after you click on art... no interface or any other folders I am told about that are in assets/art... is something wrong with my copy?

You'll need to unpack the art files. There should be instructions in the tutorial section somewhere. I did it 4 months ago so I can't recall what I did.

I got on the tutorial and sid meyer looked like a pair of eyeballs and floating dentures... what is that about? And how come the fog of war didn't clear up when I explored someplace new?

You can get it from in-game. Advanced --> Check for updates IIRC.
