It's small, I know. What that is is a picture of a technology called Assasination. It enables an "invisible" unit which can sneak into other lands undetected (at least it sort of can). Now, I've looked over the entire technology tree in C3C (the game, not the site) and it is nowhere to be found. Is this a Conquest-specific tech, or did I just miss it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Its in the Conquests: Middle-Ages.

That would make sense, seeing as the were around during the Crusades. Thanks Gumby.

I played several C3C games and never saw this technology.

Can you preciselly locate in the technology tree this discover "assasination"?
It looks interesting.

In the Middle-Ages Conquest (not in the epic game.)
In the Age "The Crusades" (the 3rd one.)
"Assassination" tech in the bottom tech row.

I wonder what this tech actually does - help you get rid of any moral impediment before stealthily slaying your enemy?

Assassins originally would kill both Crusaders and Saracens in their sleep or otherwise, so it's probably a unit for getting your enemy's weak flank.

It's an invisible unit with a high attack factor but weak defense, there are some units that can reveal them (e.g. spies)

Hasnt got anything to do with this thread really, just wanted to share with you that assassin really means weed-smoker :p .

Its strange how the word, reffering to drugged children programed to kill by "the old one in the mountain" turned into meaning sneaky, uber-killer in English :D .

When you use Assassins in the MA conquest, the AI might run into them, with their units and this will start a war.

That's because they smoked 'Hash' or 'Hish-Hash' and were called Hishhashins, which is hard to say so it evolved to 'assassins.'

Sorry this is a bit off-topic, but could anyone please elaborate on "the old one in the mountain" mentioned in Gabryel Karolin's post? I'd heard some of the etymology of 'assassin' as mentioned, but I'm clueless and curious as to what the "old one in the mountain" reference means or implies. Thanks in advance if anyone can clue me in or point me in the right direction...

trivia rules!
(more than work, at least)

Did you guys get all your info from the Broken Sword game? That's how I already knew the info posted at least... ;)

Sweet; thanks a ton, Gabryel! I appreciate the info; very interesting. I'll have to check it out in more detail once I'm home from work. Thanks again; have a good one! :)

An interesting footnote to all this - with reference to the modern world -is that the Nazaris (The Islamic sect to which the 'Assassins' belonged) altered Islamic doctrine to adopt terrorism as a sacred religious duty.
