Little Alex
Chieftain
Hello,
I'm a huge Civ nut, I beat Civ 1 back when I was in third grade and have been obssessed ever since... I got Civ 3 about three weeks ago, right beofre I moved from Boston to LA, got my G4 all set up, went to go play my new game and low and behold, I left the instruction booklet in Boston.
I've got the basic nuances of the game down, though there are a couple things I needed a little help on.
Is there any way to stack units, like in Call To Power? I used to love stacking together 8 tanks and taking a rival's capital hostage. I'm more of a builder than a combatant, but, you know, sometimes you just gotta roll up your sleeves...
I was in the process of slaughtering the French playing as the Chinese, and had a single swordman who I used to raze about six of their cities (couldn't be bothered to send more troops overseas). I had just finished doing in the last longbowman in Lyons when it gave me a leader (Khubli Khan?). How do I benefiet from having a leader?
And lastly, more strategic than anything else, but, it seems was harder to keep money coming in in Civ 3 than previous incarnations. What are your tatics for mainaining a decent-sized army and an infastructure of workers and not end up going into the red?
Thanks!
