This is true of a lot of things in the modern age. I'm personally in the camp that a fourth age is coming (which will more explicitly be designed around just chasing a win con), at which point the modern age will become more like the other two in that empire building will play a bigger role, which is why the modern age in its current position is a little bit of a square peg in a round hole. Getting into that discussion might be beyond the scope of this thread, though.

Please excuse that I necro this thread. I just wanted to point out that Ada + Heian is nuts. Heian is amazing anyway (but there is no thread for it yet), and Ada is, of course, too. But the combination worked even better than I thought.

Haven't tried Ada + Heian yet, but Catherine + Heian is bonkers as long as you can get a few tundra cities going. I think the main thing I'm seeing is that Heian is just straight up OP.

Yeah, I was thinking about trying Catherine+Heian next, but Ada+Heian also sounds great...
