I don't know why the moderators of Civfanatics.com delete posts if they complain about hardware incompatability with civilization 4, but here another try this time not backed by 3 screenshots but by several more. But maybe they didnt delete it but people are massively putting new threats and i just dont find my own! :)

I don't know what is causing the problem on my computer, fact is, i bought this game legally and i see no reason why either civfanatcs or firaxis or take2 or sid meier should do anything to close my threat!!

so here it goes:
I have a P4P800 Asus mainboard, with a soundmax onboard.
as soon as civilization comes to the init sound, it just blops and is gone...i don't even see the game, if i go to the ini file, switch sound off(state 0) i can pass this init, but, as soon as the pyton thing comes, i get around 100 XML failures!
to prove I bought the game legally and to back my problems i put here some screenshots online too, in the hope this time civfanatics does not delete my problem, but instead forwards it to firaxis. (but like i said before, maybe they didnt delete it, and it's just lost among the 1000bug reports :)) the other threat was xml error related to ATI? but i cannot find it...so im not seeing if i get any response on it, maybe someone can help me?

Found out the Bug myself...if you're using US-Windows XP SP4, combined with german regional and language options, modify these options to fit your own needs..the , and . are swept..this causes errors on my soundcard, xml files, ATI Radeon 9800 pro..anyway, i now have all settings to standard and now it works, my MS office will now be completely mad because typing in different languages request different regional settings, but hey, the game is finally working more then an hour flawlessly
