finally i made a good score.i played monarch level and made 37070 points.i played onother game regent level and made 27000 points.but i made abig mistake that i did not played with one big continent.i played it island so i could not get the others very early.i read Sir Pleb's thread and played this game on an hugh one continent and i got the other civs very quickly.of course i made lots of mistakes with that game.i leave two island to greeks .sum of islands are big enough to build 20 cities.that affects my score nearly 800 points(maybe more).i will try the game emperor level next.and i will always use your suggestion..thank all.(sorry for my english)

Congratulations!

I hope you submitted those games for the HoF, 'cause we can always use some more competition!

unfortunately accelerated production isn't part of the normal rules so it isn't normally allowed for hof.

i didnt use accelarated production.did you see my game.??i didnt say anything like that i suppose.so it is not a problem about accelarated production..

just assumed you were using accelerated to get such massive points especially on an archipelago map. my all time high monarch continents score using the hall of fame rules was something like 5300. i mean ... exactly how do you get 27000 points on archipelago? unless i'm wrong, only coastal tiles count as territory, sea and ocean tiles don't.

maybe i would get better scores if i played as an expansionist civ with 1 opponent ...

Archipelgo maps result in more coastline, thus increasing the overall tile count towards domination. I've noticed an average jump of 3-400 tiles just from switching from Pangaea to Continents...

nihl8r, it is obvious your approach is working well to win games, but perhaps it is affecting your score. I got this quote from another one of your posts on another thread:

"the computer usually sends out 1 military unit as an escort for settlers. i do too, but i usually have a town that is just pumping out defenders to bolster the town defense."

It appears you may be building defenders using shields that instead could be used for extra workers or settlers. I think it is a good challenge to play raging barbarians, and it takes a good deal of skill to deal with them. Unfortunately there are no bonus points for raging barbarians.

Some of the HOF attempts indicate single digit military unit counts until AD era (like three horsemen make up the entire military!) Obviously this would crash big time with raging barbs, but it works fine with diplomacy and sedentary barbs. To get a top HOF score, I believe the entire early game play is to be focused on growing the empire quickly.

I don't know if Aeson would consider a multiplier for barb setting level in the HOF or not.

Remember, the HOF rules stipulate a minimum number of AI depending on map size. I'm afraid this won't work.

EDIT: In regards to the barbarians, I see no need for a multiplier or bonus as that would be unprecedented. Getting an HOF score off of raging barbs is impressive and cause for some bragging rights, but I think sedentary/no barbs mean better beginnings and thusly higher scores, which are where the true bragging is.

EDIT: This probably goes without saying, but there's bragging rights just for being in the HOF.

i submitted my game nearly six days ago.i think they forget to look at it:).how many days will pass after a submitted game to enter HOF .??

Updates are usually done on the 12th and the 27th.

zerksees, you're absolutely right. while i enjoy my games immensely and eventually overcoming 15 civs is pretty rewarding, my scores totally suck. i've started playing against 13 civs instead of 15 to see how that goes. i've noticed the land grabbing stage is a lot crazier. we'll see what happens! :)
