Yes. The inbuilt SisM650 on my laptop has the black terrain and missing faces problem.

So far it seems like all my eggs rest in the upcoming patch basket!

If you have anything other than Nvidia or ATI. Stop. Think. DO yourself a favor. Break the CD in half.

Any Geforce card is NVidia. NVidia doesn't actually manufacture their cards (as far as I know), other manufacturers just make use of their chipset.

i just purchased a video card got it installed and installed the software now there is a blue screen when the game starts. The globe comes up but no menu screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have a Via SG3 Unichrome IGP, built in a KM400.

I have the black terrain and leaderfaces problem. I dont own a copy of civ4, but made tests with someone copy in my computer. So I'm not worrying about lost money.

After all, Age of Empires III runs fine here, except in naval battles, where the water splashes slows the game so much that is impossible to play. No black terrain, but the game will get boring when the campaigns ends.

Nvidia and ATI are monopolies. It's like Intel vs AMD.

Actually I have a Matrox P750 which is supposed to meet the requirements (64 megs, T&L support). After upgrading to the latest drivers the game played fine up to a point (except for the stuttering movies) but now (around 1200 AD) it's freezing every other turn or so. Matrox is checking out the problem: http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewtopic.php?t=17700 but if anyone has any suggestions I'd welcome them.

BTW, why Matrox? What other AGP card has dual DVI support?

If either had a monopoly then the other wouldn't - the clues are there if you look for them... ;)
