Amazingly, my wife seems to be hooked by Civ. 4 which is quite a thing, since she mostly plays point and click adventure games. Anyway, I tried to install the game on her laptop, a T42 Thinkpad with ATI Radeon 7500 with 32MB of video memory. I know this is rather on the limit/impossible side of the minimum requirements for this game, but everything seems to run fine except a font rendering annoyance.
The see that the game is quite responsive, there are no problems with displaying the terrain or anything, but all text in the game looks badly jagged. It is still readable, but with a lot of effort and makes playing the game somehow uncomfortable.
I searched the forums and Google, there are a lot of Radeon 7500 threads but I could not find anything on this font problem. If anybody could give me a hint I would be more than grateful! I use the Omega drivers, maybe some parameters tweaking would help.
