Hey there!
I've encountered a really annyoing problem. As stated above the in-game music is played twice as fast as normal hence provoking sounds like chipmunks. The videos' sounds are played perfectly normal though. That's simply not acceptable!
I must state that the problem only occurs with my new lap-top soundcard: ECHO Indigo IOx (driver 7.5)
When activating the onboard soundchip Conexant HD Audio music playback in Civ4 is normal.
Futhermore my system information:
WinXP Home (5.1, Build 2600)
DirectX 9.0c
Civilization IV Complete
Apart from Civ4 playback in games with the ECHO Indigo is perfectly normal (tested with Anno 1701 and HoMM III).
So, I hope anyone here does have an idea on how to resolve the playback anomaly concerning the ECHO audio card.
