Definitely Scientific but perhaps Industrious instead of Commercial.
Another possibility for the UU could be the Light Horse. Modified Cavalry 8/2/3 Horses, no Saltpeter. Came later in history than black powder weapons.
Call the ANZAC the Digger, thats all Aussie no Kiwi taint. What sort of abilities were you thinking of here? More offense, if you ever travel around Europe many of the hostel owners find us highly offensive
Other Ideas for uniqueness:
Wine to Beer.
Colisuem to the Pub. Double the cultural value. Doubles Beer Luxury effect.
Entertainer Icon to Boonie and Kylie.
Sistine Chapel to the MCG. Has the added attribute of making the English just as unhappy.
Shakespeare's Theatre to the Opera House.
We Love The King Day to Won Rugby World Cup or Retained The Ashes.
Quicker Assimilation of other nationalities.
Can't wait for you to finish, there are never any Australians in any games even if they did use an Aussie voice for the Free Drones in Alpha Centauri Alien Crossfire.

I've kinda got this on hold at the moment, because although I've got the time, I'm waiting on some FLICster tutorials (for the unique unit), and hoping I can find someone to make animated leader graphics (that's a little beyond me)...

how are you at graphics? The Boonie/Kylie touch would be awesome...if only my graphics skill had advanced past stick figures.

Nah I'm no good at that stuff either. There is a guy that is churning out some good graphics in this Forum. His name is Haverlock and I bet if you look on some of his threads there are other graphics people too.

i love my home country AUSTRALIA and i was shocked not to see us there but i love the idea of the light horse man i love it just the thought of building a sh%t load of these guys and letting them lose mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but anyway seems our culture is bascilly sportish why dont u do something about it like AFL (GO PIES) cricket (see those south africans try) and so on and apart from the yanks we really are the "newist"country in civ 3 (i think)

I just wanted to say...I haven't forgotten about this, though I don't know whether I'll ever get it finished, as the stupid bugs are pissing me off. I'm waiting for my brother to get home in a few days and finish re-playtesting it in his game, and if his game stops crashing, then I'll post it.

Seeing that ANZAC is the Army Core i don't think that you should use it as a speacial unit.

A unique Australian unit was the Australian Light Horse Brigade. They were like a better version of the the cavarly. They were crucial to the aussies in World War 1. They were known for their feathers in their hats.

Think about it as it would be a great unit for the Australian Civ.

hey ... u forgot to mention the pugarees in there hats also!! ... but yea ... great idea man!! i agree with commercial and scienticic ... up being the only country in the world to pursue actual free trade (and not doing to bad either) ... and who else could possably invent the hills hoist or the victa

dont know which would be a more appropiate UU u could use the ANZAC (and digger would be perfect as said above)... make it a rifleman unit with a extra few hitpoints or something ... extra defence .... or something to give em tougher defence .... or possably light horse .... (it would be more useful) and every auzzi knows the 10th light horse based in western australia (that is one u westralians can be so fudgingg proud!!) .... the movies galipilli and charge of the light horse were both based on the 10th light horse .... so cav fought without there horses sometimes ... actually .... after writing this ... i would be more partial to make the UU cav with some tough defence .... the extra hitpoints mebey? (i dont even think this is possable?) much like the russian cossacks really ... i dont know ... but i will download whatever u make (and perhaps ill have a go also)
