Just a philosophical question...

Is there a bigger collection of thugs, criminals, malcontents, arrogent jerks and preening primadonnas than the Ravens? The list is long, but if you follow the NFL you know the names. From Modell to Billick and on down through the organization the roster is a roll call of undersirables.

Every time I see that murdering SOB do his rain dance prior to a game, and see the media subsequently gush about it, I become ill.

Heres hoping that a plea leading to a felony conviction for conspiracy to traffic cocaine draws more attention from the league than obstruction of justice in a murder investigation. Bring on a 8 week suspension at the least.

The Miami Hurricanes.

My bad, amend that to professional sports.

Altought there is quite a bit of overlap: Lewis, Sanders, Ed ("THE UNIVERSITY") Reed.

The U---- what a JOKE! You could count the REAL classes they took on
one hand.

The Ravens make me :vomit: . They talk trash and it looks like they try to
hurt opposing players on just about every tackle when on defense.
I haven't understood the 'gushing' either  -- he doesn't do any
more than most linebackers in the league, just runs his mouth more. If I
heard Jamal had nothing to worry about and was innocent one time I heard
it a hundred, so WHY the plea bargain???? . I thing your analysis
of them was pretty accurate! :goodjob:

And that excludes the Hurricanes, how?

Seriously though, I think historically there have been teams that exude the thug perception on the field (Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers et al) but the Ravens are the first to really carry it off the field as well.

I agree with this. This team is inspired to be thugs like it's a compiment or goal in life. I remember that fat head Tony Sirsausages bouncing his 400lb body on little Rich Gannon that year they got to the Superbowl. That was one of the reasons they even made it because Oakland was laying it on them when he broke a bone in Gannons shoulder after accidently bouncing up and down on him. I can't stand any of those guys and it's only fitting that hypocrit Sanders has joined the pack. He talks about God all the time and then when a mechanic wants his money he tell the mechanic God told him he shouldn't pay so much. What a joke. This whole team is full of losers. If not for football they would still be thuggin on the streets and getting shot in driveby's.

I feel very different ways about the two Lewises. First, Jamal. His "drug conspiracy" bust was, by the Feds' own admission, a dry one. There are no drugs, no money and no guns. Just tape recorded conversations. To me, that is pretty thin soup. The reason he had to cop a plea is that the conspiracy charge carried up to 25 years. The question is not "if he is innocent, why the plea?" The right question is if the Feds had meaningful evidence of a major drug conspiracy, why are they offering a 4 month plea bargain?

Ray Lewis is another matter entirely. He obstructed justice in a murder case. Even if he did not stab the guy himself he could have, or even should have, been charged as an accessory after the fact. Accessory to murder is the same crime as murder in most states. The only reason he is not in jail is that his obstruction worked well enough that no-one was ever convicted of that murder and you cannot be an accessory to an unproven crime.
