I set up a game for a 2-city experiment lately, on a terra map with raging barbarians. I let the other civs on my continent develop as they liked while I prepared a late-game expansion onto the free continent out there. Bismark turned out to be a real threat, he conquered nearly the whole continent but I managed to keep on good terms with him.
Interestingly enough with just two initial cities I managed to keep up in tech and even overtake everyone except bismark with his gazillion cities. During one of Bismark's conquests I allied with him and conquered a third city closer to the ocean. From there I was able to settle a fourth, coastal city to build ships.
When I finally sent out some units to find the second continent, this is what I found:
The whole continent looked like that. They even had destroyers and infantry, which made the task of settling on that continent a pretty fun experience - especially since I used the unlimited Barbarian XP Mod
Compared to the other civs, barbarians and ruins are a lot more interesting imho. What's your experience?
P.S. I'm blue on the minimap, Bismark is gray, Askia is orange, green is Ghandi and purple is Caesar.
