[BTS] Best AI/fixes mod?

I recently rediscovered this marvel of a game after years of absence.
i am a bit out of the loop, so what are currently the best vanilla friendly mods for AI/generic fixes?

People have moved on from vanilla--get BtS.

BUG just changes the user interface makes information (that is available to the player without BUG) easier to access.

K-mod is a popular mod for making a better AI, but also introduces a number of other changes.

If you have BTS, there is also Better BAT AI. it has better AI and graphical improvements, and it's not as difficult as KMod.
