Best RPG for Mac?

I've got a Mini 1.42 512 MB etc. all stock.

What is a good RPG for me to get for it?

Definitly pick up Baldur's Gate, the expansion, the sequel, and the sequel's expansion. (I think the original BG will run under classic. If not, there are ways of modifying BG to use the game engine for BG2, which does run natively on OS X.)

I've played them all. Neverwinter Nights is the best RPG for Mac by a wide margin because of the fan-created downloadable modules you can get here:

I couldn't get into BG2, but I did like Neverwinter Nights quite a bit. By far, my favorite game (besides Civ of course) is World of Warcraft. You'd have to check the spec requirements, but I bet it would play on your Mini. It's incredibly fun, and I never thought I'd play a game that requires subcription, I have to admit World of Warcraft is worth it!

Thanks for those replies. Baldurs gate really seems to be popular, and the game is still holding its value after being out for a long time. I'll look in to Neverwinter Nights and World of Warcraft as well.

Consider Knights of the Old Republic as well. It is another Bioware creation that uses an evolution of the Neverwinter Nights engine.

Have a look at 'Battle For Wesnoth'. It's an open-source game, free to all, and it's got some very sneaky AI!!

Good fun, and a great fan base - loads of add-on scenarios have been created by them. Also has Multiplayer mode.

Fallout and Fallout2 are excellent. So is Diablo, even though it's more of a action hack'n'slash than RPG. I am refering to diablo II LoD of course.

Also the best source of RPGs by far is an SNES emulator and anything squaresoft/squareenix. Such a Final Fantasy 345, and Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Lufia ect..

and as far as it being the best RPg of all time you obviously haven't played the elder scrolls 3: Morrowind.
