In American football, I prefer to sit at the corner of the field since it provides the best angle to see a play develop from the line of scrimmage.

Since football/soccer is a more free flowing sport, it seems like that would be less of an issue, so I'm just curious as to where folks like to sit.

BTW: "The seats nearest the beer concession" is a perfectly vaild response, but not really what I'm looking for, I mean the best seats to watch the game, you see.

not too close to the field. A bit higher up for a good overaal view of the field. My personal preference is also one of the corners of the field, but that's just because I always site there... ;)

I like in the middle, halfway up. Get to see the whole game. Preferably on the side where the sun isn't going to get in my eyes.

The best seats I've ever had were nearly the direct center of the Premium Level in Croke Park. It was a fantastic view, and the bar is an added bonus.

In the center is the best to see the game developing, but the best atmosphere is usually in the fan stands behind the goals.

At Charlton i sit right behind the goal i have sat all around the ground although the 1/2 way line gives you the best all round view behind the goals is best for atmosphere and also for seeing the action near your goal the only disadvantage is seeing the other goal which sometimes on a misty night seems far away

I really enjoy watching football games without being a fan of whatever side, so in the middle is the best, I think.
When it comes to the national team, I simply prefer the admosphere above Japanese tourists or bobos.

Is it because you inhale the fumes of whatever they're smoking ? And what the hell is a bobo anyway ?

Okay, I mean generally, not necessarily at a particular stadium. There doesn't really seem to be any kind of consensus, which says something in itself.

I'm not talking about a particular stadium, just a particular team (Liverpool). ;)

The best (and most expensive) seats at a football match are the ones on the halfway line (or close to it).

It's so damn hard to translate the Dutch word sfeer in to English...... I guess you must know what I mean with admosphere.

A bobo is an official that pretends to be a football fan, but couldn't care less. The types that cheer about '3 more points' during a cup-fight win..... Preferably while sipping a dry white wine in a skybox.

I've alos seen the types that leave in the 88th minute, to avoid trafic jams. That's forgivable (yet still wrong) when it's 3-0 and understandable when it's 0-3, but I've seen it during Ajax-Celta de Vigo in 2003-2004 first round Chamions League. It was 1-0, and the Spanish were pressing. It was what we call a real 'billenknijper' (arse squeezer). You don't leave in the 88th minute when watching an arse-squeezer. That's just insane.......

At some parts in the stadium, you are more likely to see these morons, than in other parts.

Back on topic - me watching Scarborough beat Accrington Stanley 4-0
