Which do you guys think is the best win Cultural, Diplomatic, or as a conqeror... :king::ar15: :tank: :die:

Hey... you forgot space race! That and cultural are the best.

I think it's best if you can time it to pull off all 5 ways to win on your last turn(when ever that is). Ending a game with a conquest, domination, space race, cultural and diplomatic win makes for a nice feel of accomplishment and excercises a wider range of skill set.

In GOTM 15, I had a 4 way win possible, conquest, domination, space race and culture in 1585AD. It's not as easy as it sounds. :)

Give it a try if your not happy with any one type of win. Try 2,3,4 or 5 way wins it will probably make anyone a better player in some way.

A comquest win should also give a cultural win right? because you then have 100% of the culture, unless you try the all in 1 city route.

Cartouche Bee, to be on the cusp of either a domination or conquest win, late enough in the game to be on the verge of a cultural one as well, would seem to mean that the AI is down to a few cities, with you just shy of the 67% territory mark. How would you achieve this - by late razing?

Yes, you will likely have to raze a few cities along the way when doing a conquest/domination, that is one reason why a diplo win can really complicate these types of multile way wins. However, you may make those types of moves at the end of the turn and then chose to abandon cities (not that it saves rep) that don't add to your needs.

When you add culture into the mix sometimes you have to destroy cultural buildings just before they expand city borders, like when a ciy has 99 culture, it's cultural expansion (when to it hits 100) could throw you over the domination threshold.

In GOTM15 I had to destroy quite a lot of cultural buildings to hold off the culture win to 1585AD, if I would have been smart I would have kept scientific "pet civs" and could have cut about 12 turns off my game, oh well. I think if I had done just a straight culture win it would have been before 1500AD, kind of like GOTM14.

I haven't done better than the nineteenth century in my few attempts a t a cultural win. Of course, I had never built a colosseum until my last cultural attempt - lazy Civ2 bias - and didn't even know that they contribute to culture until very late in the game, when I needed them for happiness. I'll look up your GOTM posts.
