Better resolution?

Is there anyway to play Civ 3 with better resolution like
1280X1024?

Mines changes automatically to the best resolution when loading the game up...

It changes automatically to 1024x768 from whatever your native resolution is, it doesnt change to the 'best' resolution.

edit- i dont know if its possible, but if it is I sure as hell want to know how to do it

You can have the game run in the resolution of your desktop by adding the line KeepRes=1 in your .ini file. Alternatively you can add the line VideoMode=1024, 1152, 1280, 1600 or 1792. To skip the intro video just add the PlayIntro=0 line.

You're welcome. If you're going to be editing your ini file, its not a bad idea to make a backup of the original file.
