Hey CFC,

Alright, so I'm trying to run CivIV on my 64 bit Windows laptop. It has all the required hardware, but during installation I've had some some problems. First, msvcp71.dll was missing from my system files, so I downloaded it from the internet and put it in the system file directory. That seems to have fixed the problem.

Then, I tried to run the game and got a binkw32.dll error. I reinstalled the game and copied its version of binkw32 into my system files, but now when I try to run the game I get this error message:

The procedure entry point _BinkShouldSkip@4 could not be located in the dynamic link library binkw32.dll.

Any advice? Should I just give up and stick to CivIII? Thanks in advance!

We got fun and games? amidoinitrite?

open
my games\sid meier's civilization 4\civilizationIV.ini
and set
nointromovie = 0
to 1

I don't seem to have a "my games," so I went into the x86 Program Files for Civ 4 and, lo and behold, there is shortcut to said file, but the file is nowhere to be found :eek: admittedly, my disk is of... questionable authenticity, but i don't see why this should be happening.

Thanks man, and this is a great forum. I've been lurking the site for a long time, and I'm looking forward to posting more :goodjob:
