Bizzare Graphics Problem

This happens often and if I save the file the graphics glitch comes with it.

It's the Mega Barbarian Demon Dust Storm of Death!

Is this permanent or does it go away if you scroll or move a unit? I've seen the same thing flash on my screen for a second and then go away, but never stick around long enough to interfere with the game.

I find so if you go back to desktop it disappears most of the time. I am also having crazy game crashing issues.

I had this problem but, it was worse and it wouldn't go away. The words in English would turn more towards Asian looking characters too. I was able to get rid of it by uninstalling all of my ATI drivers and uninstalling the game. Re-installing the game and then re-installing the ATI Catalyst control panel drivers 5.11. I also upgraded my RAM to 1.5GB from 1.0GB. Huge maps use a lot of memory(750MB+). So far (knock on wood), I haven't had any issues. I do leave my Virus software running but, tell it not to check the Civ IV files in the program folders or in the profile folder that saves the games. I also think that probably helped me.
