So I had few problems installing and opening Civ 4 (besides the fact my disks were labeled incorrectly) but when I tried to play it things got dicey. So I clicked on the 'Play Now!' button and entered in what kind of land I wanted and what leader I wanted to be, with no problems. But then when I got through all that and the game tried to open things became bad. The game opened and I could see the warrior and I could see my settler. I could move by warriors, I built a city with my settler. But the screen was entirely pitch black. No matter where I moved the screen remained pitch black. The only things I could see was my warrior, my city, and the resources, but all the land was black. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks for your time.

Please please please please pleasepleaseplease use the search function before posting - there are 68 threads on this, including one clearly labelled "Black Terrain" of over 10 pages on here. It's related to the T&L function on your GPU - if you don't have T&L or if it's not enabled you get black terrain and the cheshire Cat effect.
