i have a problem with civ4, after downloading the patch 1.61 patch (the 1.74 patch is even more bugged) and play the game it gets into the game, then after about 30sec i get a black screen, while the background music is still playing.
I have directx9, and a Nvidia quadro 770m graphics card. i remember the game playing well a long time ago on my old computer, i definutly have a lot better graphics card, so am wondering why its having problems.
after the game crashes then if i try to re-load i get a error "failed to initialise renderer" etc.
i've been also having troubles with it hanging a work computer, and my other home computer somehow instantly loses power and turns itself off. hmm, all 3 computers cant play civ, i wonder if this is some divine sign that i should stop playing civ and get off my a$$ and put more effort into the rest of my life.
