Just installed RoM 2.8 Mega + 2.81 Patch(Mega). When I start game the whole terrain is pitch black. 2.61 versio worked without problems. Is there any work around how get everything as they should?

One post suggested editing ModularLoadingControls, maybe I didn't edit the right file(there quite a few of them) or simply it didn't do the trick for me. Also it seems the problem manifests only with Mega edition. Does the Full edition contain all the leaderheads and civilizations?

Any help would be appriciated.

The full edition only has a few as said above, you would have to download the civ megapack in addition. However in either case, if you have black terrain now, you'd have it in the other.

I can tell you that it isn't necessarily your computers power in terms of process/ram/graphics that determines whether or not it happens, but rather the more unscientific cause of 'Your computer just doesn't like it' (we don't really know). I bought an even newer graphics card recently and its still the same problem. To get around it, download or request the additional civs you want as modular add-ons, or alternatively delete civs from the extra civs until your terrain goes back to normal.

set load to 0 for 5-10 civs in Mega...

I once had the black terrain but when i got a better graphics card it went away. Idk if this is a solution your problem.

Well I was able to transfer the civic and the leaderhead which I wanted to the Full versio from the Mega versio.....well sort of......only thing missing is the Flag Decals. The small flag next my units is white, and when I started the new game some pink squares on both side of starting screen which shows what tech you start with etc.

Would it be possible to make a setup/install file, which contains all the extra content from Mega Edition, and you could pick which leaders and civics you want to install.

I think it would solve a lot of problems?

I can play 2.81 mega just fine, but after adding A New Dawn 1.6beta black terrain shows up. Moving all this stuff out (less might be ok) worked:
Aborigines
Harappa
Maori
Mapuche
Olmec
Custom Leaderheads

Also the "static" (leaderheads) module was moved from "unloaded modules" to "modules".

The graphics card is an ATI5770 with 1G on win7 x64.

I've posted in another thread cause I had an xml-error also. Nearly the same worked for me. I chose other civs (7), and did no changes to the leaderheads. Solved the black terrain for me.

I agree with CainStar. Optional install would be a good idea. Maybe can be done in the way that they all are installed, but turned on/off in the mlf so that you can change later if you want without need to install again.
