Again, I am forced to confess my stupidity but its fun to be in the other role. Over at PAoE, an UBB of 6000+ members, I moderate the novice help and used to moderate the strategy section so now I get to be the stupid newbie who has questions
So here is what I wanna know. I was playing the other night (still on chieftan, no laughing, I wanna understand how the game works before I go back to monarch(king for all you old school l33t folks)) and I was at war with the zulu's. I looked at my forieng minister dude and his tab said we were at peace with the zulus (and if I haven't told you yet, they're all smelly whores who dont shave or wear deodarant). Now, I know that when you are at war with someone, you're culture goes down the drain, but mine didn't. I also lost some fights that I should have won without a second thought and saw no war weariness.
Here is my question... If you fight a war while at "peace" with the enemy do you get all the benefits of peace and the ability to launch attacks.
If the answer to the above is yes, why declare war? I have a feeling that when you have war choosen as your political entanglement with another civ, you're units fight up to their full potential (and they dont at peace) or they fight beyond (meaning they fight full at peace). I dont know, maybe it makes no difference and I am just blond but...
I have a feeling the reason that we are not winning easy fights and not losing culture points has something to do with that. Thanks in advance to all you nice kind people who wont make me feel like an idiot (right?).
