Just for some reference, I'm usually a year or two behind on buying games so I apologize if this is retreading existing ground...

I already own G&K but am on the fence about BNW. I downloaded the demo this weekend and played only to find out that because of the turn limit you don't get to experience any of the new features other than trade. (Yes, some tourism, but the real effects of that don't come into play until endgame.) Thanks for wasting my time Firaxis.

Is there any other kind of demo or playthrough that allows me to sample the new features short of paying for the game?

I don't think there is any demos.

Ah, just get it. What is it, like 10 bucks now? The late game is so much more interesting. It's worth it.

Yeah. If you're too broke to pay $10 for the expansion at this point then you should probably be worrying about procuring food instead.

Perhaps they prefer to live frugally. If you bought every cheap thing that you might enjoy you could fast find yourself becoming a poor man.

It does seem strange that they'd have a demo without some key features, but keep in mind a lot of the balance changes and subtler things will still be available earlier in the game.

You might want to check out some youtube Let's Plays to have a look at the new features; if you can't get to them in the demo, there is no way of actually trying them out yourself without buying the game.

Where is it only $10? Its listing for $30 at Steam, Gamestop, and Amazon right now.

I think they confused it with Gold edition upgrade or a sale's price. I would wait until the complete edition releases next month and see how cheap it is then.
